CGSC Housing

Finding the On Post housing information was pretty simple. Click here for their link. Once you are on their link you can easily access the application for Family Housing.  When I called housing,  (913) 682-6300, they were very friendly and helpful.  Now keep in mind for CGSC we are not considered "regular permanent party."  Our contact person, as of this post, is:
Student (ILE) Housing Coordinator
Carlisa Cashman (913) 565-9805 ccashman@themichaelsorg.com

In my experience the ILE Student Housing Coordinator is a little hard to get a hold of. However after leaving messages that were not immediately returned, I simply kept calling until I got a hold of her.  When it comes to housing and other important information that affects your family, don't be shy about contacting them well in advance. Also, don't simply assume they will call you back if you left a message. I give them a couple days then call again.  Always, always be polite with everyone you deal with, remember they have a lot to handle and we don't have any idea what their day has been like.

There are not a whole lot of photos of the housing areas. Once I get there I want to take more photos so you can have a better idea of what the houses really look like. It would be especially nice if there were photos of the inside. One thing I did find was that the same houses for ILE students are also listed on the "permanent party" housing site. However, some of the permanent party listings have photos. So... follow this link to see some to the floor plans with photos.   The floor plans with photos are as follows: Infantry  Barracks, Old Oregon Village and Santa Fe Village. Is I search I will post more photos when I find them. If any of you find photos let me know please.

I did find one warning on FaceBook about off post living:
"Anyone living off-post and renting from Homestead Rentals, Cynthia Sowle. If you still have a chance rent from someone else, if not email me and I will give you specifics. We were warned summer of 2012 but we figured the truth was exaggerated. Well it wasn't and we paid for it."
While I do not know about this yet, I want to put it out for you to do your own informed research.

Good luck with housing. I will keep you posted on my progress.
